Most have heard of Earthquaker Devices, and they build a variety of effect pedals. I've owned several of them and still own a few. All great tone machines and solidly built. This pedal will give you clean boost to juice up the front end of your favorite amp, but you can turn up the gain and dial in some great sounding low to medium gain overdrive. Great tones all over this pedal. Very dynamic and touch sensitive. You won't be disappointed. Please go the last paragraph for a more detailed description. I bought this from a music store that went out of business. Actually, I was able to get two of them. Both were new when I purchased them. The one you will be bidding on I have played it twice. Below is some additional information: Westwood is a touch sensitive translucent overdrive manipulator as clean and pure as the breeze which blows through a grove of Douglas Fir trees, and as hot as a damn fine cup of coffee. This mild-mannered light to medium-gain overdrive with active EQ controls will still knock the socks right off your trusty low-wattage combo amp, pushing it into anything from cutting, edge-of-breakup rhythm tones, all the way to articulate, singing lead tones stacked high with pleasing even-order harmonics and sweet, sweet sustain. If you pair it up with your favorite head and cab, you should probably call the neighbors first, because the Westwood’s Level control has enough output on tap to alert the proper authorities. The EarthQuaker Westwood features a simple, four-knob design that provides the usual Level and Drive controls plus separate Bass and Treble EQ controls. The Westwood differs from most other transparent boost pedals by providing more gain boost that pushes overdrive to the edge of distortion, along with an active EQ section that delivers up to 20dB of boost or cut to frequencies around 2kHz (treble) and 80Hz (bass). The pots for bass and treble knobs have center-detents at 0dB to make it easy to dial in true transparent tone. The circuit has an all-analog signal path, and the true bypass switch is relay-based to provide silent, click-free on and off switching.
