"Early Printing in Tennessee"-McMurtrie-1933-Limited 1st Edition of 900

Description: Offered is the vintage book "Early Printing in Tennessee", written by Douglas C. McMurtrie and published in 1933 by the Chicago Club of Printing House Craftsmen in Chicago. This is a stated limited edition of 900, printed in August, 1933 for presentation to those attending the 14th Annual Convention of the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen (see photo #3). There are several illustrations, including two foldouts. With only 900 produced this is by definition a rare find, although at the time of original listing there were several others for sale on eBay. The book is approx. 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" and contains 141 pages, including the index. It is in good to very good condition. The burgundy hard cover has only light wear, although there are some marks and blotches. The gold words on the spine are faded but readable. There is no cracking inside either the front or back covers. The yellow endpapers are clean in the front but there are several notes written on them in pencil in the back. I see no missing or torn pages and all the pages are well-attached to the binding. The pages have yellowed, especially around the edges, but are generally clean and clear, with occasional foxing. I see no writing except for the notes in the back endpapers, already mentioned. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions.
