Description: *My store is on vacation but I have these books with me and can ship them today. Thank you! I have been collecting these books for a long time and I finally got all 14! And now it is time to send them along on their way. First of all, these are not all first editions, just one, please read carefully and ask me anything. These books are in pretty good shape, especially for being 120 years old. Spines are intact, no pages are falling out, both covers anchored on, but there are idiosyncrasies specific to each book so I will take it book by book. 1. The Wizard of Oz 1903, Bobb's Merrill, illustrations by W. W. Denslow. Color Plates! This book is in extremely good condition. 3rd edition, 1st state. Corners are sharp. The inscription is To Gregory from Daddy and Mother but the book has been maintained with care, the spine is still intact and no one has ever even opened it all the way. Gorgeous, bright colors, minimal yellowing, no water damage. It is in better shape than any other copy I have found. There are a few pages in the beginning that have light spotting and a small dent in the back cover. Please message me for more photos. 2. The Land of Oz 1932 Reilly & Lee, red cloth cover, the only book with no pasteboard cover art, black and white illustrations, Reilly & Lee. This book is not the crown of the collection but it is in very good shape, no writing, pages firmly in place. 3. Ozma of Oz Reilly and Lee very good shape, green cloth cover with Ozma coming out of a curtain. Pasteboard bright and well tacked, sharp corners, pages tightly bound. Black and white illustrations, excellent condition. 4. Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz Reilly & Lee pale yellow cloth cover, sharp corners, firm pages, bottom of spine where publisher is printed has been chewed or torn. You can see extent of wear in first photo but please ask for further critique. 5. The Road to Oz olive green cover, black and white illustrations, phenomenal condition! No issues but someone printed 1909 On the cover, small and neat but please see pic. 6. The Emerald City of Oz, Color plates! Beautiful condition, this is one of the books people claim to be a first edition but the first 12 books were by Reilly & Britton, not Reilly & Lee as this book is. Sharp corners, tightly bound, dark blue cloth, gorgeous book! 7. The Patchwork Girl of Oz, Color Plates! Gorgeous, again, touted as a first edition but published by Reilly & Lee. Beautiful book, tight pages, minimal yellowing, excellent. Dark blue cloth cover. 8. Tik-Tok of Oz, Color plates! Stunning copy in great shape, sharp corners, tight binding. Light green cloth cover, pasteboard is perfect. 9. Tin Woodman of Oz with dust jacket! Red cloth cover, black and white illustrations. Very good condition of actual book, (dj has deteriorated with age, 1 flap separated. Paste board is broght, corners sharp, pages tight. It is in a plastic bag to prevent any further deterioration of dust jacket. 10. Rinkitink in Oz, Color Plates! Reilly & Lee Gorgeous copy in amazing shape, good corners, good pages. Olive green cloth cover, exquisite book. 11. The Lost Princess of Oz, Reilly & Lee black and white illustrations, lemon yellow cover. Very good shape, 2 mm tear in spine by Reilly & Lee publisher mark. Tightly bound, nice corners. 12. The Scarecrow of Oz, Reilly & Lee black and white illustrations. In good shape, tight pages, sharp corners. Paste board is brightly colored and neatly attached, minimal yellowing. 13. Glinda of Oz Reilly & Lee black and white illustrations. The book is tightly bound and the pages are firmly attached. The cover was red but there has been some fading and staining. Type has worn away on the spine and the pasteboard cover has begun to lift from the bottom. This book has the most wear but is syill a fully readable copy if you so choose and is also totally presentable to look at, just shows a little wear but pretty good for a 100 yr old. 14. The Magic of Oz Reilly & Lee True first edition. This is the crown of my collection, in superb shape, corners are good, pages are good, all color plates are present. No water damage and it has been handled gingerly since its original publication in 1919! So, in summation, 14 terrific books, some of which are over 100 years old. No surprises. The books with color plates are being sold elsewhere as 1st editions by Reilly & Lee, but some previous copies were sold by Reilly & Britton. I love the world of Oz, I had these books as a child, from my great grandmother, but my house burned down and I lost them. I had been keeping them in my attic and by the time I arrived, there was nothing there but ash raining down with phrases from the books that turned to nothing like snowflakes when they touched your skin. "There's no place like home..." Touche. These books are magic to me. It has been a lot of fun to hunt down these treasures all of my adult life. Please message me for more photos - I am extremely limited on the detail I can convey with the maximum allowable photos. *You will see that people sell Oz books as first editions frequently because only the year first printed is usually on the publication page. All of the books until 1918 were first printed by Reilly & Britton and then reprinted immediately by Reilly and Lee and those bearing color plates are accepted/ sold as first editions but they aren't. 1918 and after, Reilly & Lee DID print first editions and I do have true firsts and they are glorious. If I have been misinformed in how I have represented these books, please feel free to message me, I want the owner to enjoy these books as much as I have and revel in whatever memories they conjure up. Thank you! *I am very festidious in packing so your books will arrive packed tightly and then double boxed with carpet padding. Ebay requires a signature so please be have someone authorized to receive your books. Have a wonderful day!
