Description: Ian Fleming (1908-64) is probably best known for his "James Bond" books. His interest in cars was evident in the Bond films but "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang The Magical Car" was the only children's book written by Fleming. First published in 1964 in England, the story was made well-known by the Disney movie with Dick Van Dyke in 1968.. This edition with 114 pages and illustrations by John Burningham was published by Random House New York in 1964. It may be a first US edition following closely after the UK publishing. A timeless fantasy adventure novel, the book is about 9-1/2 inches in height, 6-1/2 inches wide, and 3/4 inch thick. The book is in good condition. There is a personalized gift inscription on the interior front page as shown in the photos but otherwise no writing, damage or tears.
