c. 1930 Gibson "The Gibson" Banjo Ukulele w/ Case. Model UB-1. Banjolele

Description: Travel back in time with this circa 1930 Gibson "The Gibson" banjo ukulele model UB-1. According to Gruhn's Guide, Gibson made the UB-1 from about 1926 to 1942. It changed the logo from "The Gibson" to "Gibson" by about 1937. So, this is from somewhere between 1926 and 1937. Gibson did not put a serial number or factory order number on it. Cosmetically, it looks good. "The Gibson" is screened on the headstock. Rosewood fretboard. Pearloid fret markers. The hide head is likely original, but still hanging tough with no tears. The hoop and tailpiece are tarnished. The resonator has some scuffs and ordinary age and play wear. Maple headstock, resonator, and neck. The frets and fretboard are in good condition. There is a good solid repair on the outer veneer on the side of the pot. See photos. Functionally, it works great and sounds great. It has new D'Addario nylon soprano uke strings on it. Detachable resonator. On one side, there are some fine cracks and noticeable nicks (please see photo). It comes in a vintage blue vinyl case that was for a regular soprano uke. It's a classic All-American instrument, ready to play for its next owner. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a stout cardboard instrument box.
