Description: Stamped on back of holster in oval is "BLUEMEL EL PASO TEXAS" as shown. Black basketweave holster will accommodate up to a 2" belt and has the sewn in closed toe. A colt single action army 5.5" fits perfectly in this holster. Holster is in excellent used condition, all stitching is tight and it is unmodified from original condition and should provide years of dependable service. The strap has snaps on both sides. The holster sits low and has a grip forward cant for a right hander. Charles Bluemel was born in 1895. He served as a SGT in the US Army in WWI and opened the Chas Bluemel Saddlery in El Paso, Texas in the early 1920s just down the street from the famous S. D. Myres Saddlery. Chas Bluemel saw great success nationwide as he gained a reputation as a master Saddle Maker and Leather Craftsman. Charles Bluemel was the primary Saddle Maker and Leather worker from the 1920s through the 1950s when Charles Bluemel's son Ed took over the operation of the business.
