Writer: John Arcudi Artwork: Leonard Kirk, Andy Clarke, Nathan Eyring Synopsis The people of both Atlantis and Sub Diego concern themselves with the most recent actions of the Spectre. Aquaman however, has his hands full with other concerns; mostly: his oldest adversaries, Ocean Master, Deep Six and Black Manta. Fortunately, Aquagirl is ready to lend him a hand. The Spectre arrives in Atlantis and tries to draw the mystical power away from Tempest. To keep Tempest off his feet, he sends a legion of zombies to attack him. Tempest still wields massive amounts of power though and fights back against the Spectre. A mysterious hooded figure arrives to give Tempest some aid. Calling upon the creatures of the deep, Tempest sends an army of squids and sea serpents to attack the Spectre. This has little effect against the Spectre other than to make him angry. He unleashes a massive attack that sends shock waves across Atlantis. Everything is in ruins. Featured Characters: Aquaman Supporting Characters: Alonzo Malrey Aquagirl Cerdian Dolphin Esther Maris Koryak Mera Tempest Vulko Antagonists: The Society Black Manta Deep Six Gole, Jaffar, Pyron, Shaligo, Slig, Trok Eel (Dies) Gamesman Hagen King Shark Marauder Ocean Master Piscator Sea Wolf The Spectre Atlantean Zombies Other Characters: Atlanteans Notes This issue is an "Infinite Crisis" crossover. The events from this issue take place concurrently with events from Infinite Crisis #3. Tempest erroneously refers to Cerdian as his daughter when speaking to Dolphin, when it has always been established that Cerdian is a boy. -------------------------------------------- Aquaman Vol 6 #38 - March 2006 "Kingdom Lost" Writer: John Arcudi Artwork: Leonard Kirk, Andy Clarke, Nathan Eyring Synopsis Green Lantern, Doctor Mid-Nite and Hourman attempt to help the beleagured people of Sub Diego. Aquaman meanwhile, discovers that Vulko has been killed. Lorena finds him and the two begin searching for Koryak. To make matters worse, they find that Koryak is dead as well. Aquaman tries to maintain his composure, but Lorena cannot contain her grief. Elsewhere in the city, dozens of Atlantean ships arrive ushering in food and people. Black Manta and his crew manage to hide within the trail of sea crafts. Two Sub Diego officers see his ship and go to inspect it, but one of Manta's trigger-happy lietenants kills them with an eletrical discharge. Manta is angry at his henchmen for risking their exposure. Aquaman takes some time to himself and reflects on the past. He steels his courage and swims back to the ruins of Sub Diego. He tells Lorena that they can no longer live in the past. It's time to go home. Featured Characters: Aquaman (Flashback and main story) Supporting Characters: Alonzo Malrey Aquagirl Doctor Mid-Nite Esther Maris Green Lantern Hourman Koryak (Flashback and main story) (Deceased) Mera Vulko (Flashback and main story) (Deceased) Antagonists: Black Manta Other Characters: Cerdian (Flashback only) Dolphin (Flashback only) Parish (Single appearance) Tempest (Flashback only) Topo (Flashback only) Notes Includes numerous flashbacks from Aquaman's life: One scene shows Aquaman as a young prince, another shows him training Aqualad who makes the decision to join the Teen Titans, another shows Koryak's first days as a citizen of Atlantis, yet another shows the birth of Garth and Dolphin's child Cerdian. In the flashback scene depicting the birth of Cerdian, Koryak is shown as one of the people there to witness and celebrate the event. However, at the time, Koryak was still exiled from Atlantis, so it should have been impossible (or at least rather unlikely) for him to have been present. In addition, Koryak was not shown in Aquaman (Volume 5) #63, the issue in which Cerdian is born, further cementing the error of this scene. Trivia Cerdian is mistakenly referred to as a female in this issue's flashbacks. Cerdian is a male infant. -------------------------------------------- Aquaman Vol 6 #39 - April 2006 "The End Has No End" Writer: John Arcudi Artowrk: Freddie E. Williams II, Nathan Eyring Featured Characters: Aquaman Supporting Characters: Alonzo Malrey Aquagirl Antagonists: Black Manta -------------------------------------------- [Tags: Aquaman, Tempest, Black Manta, Mera, Aqualad, DC, DCU, DCEU]
