Antique "Standard" Porcelain and Cast Iron Wall-Hung Barn Sink ~1926 Vintage~

Description: "Standard"Porcelain Over Cast Iron SinkCirca: 1926 This 98 year old sink is in relatively good "vintage" condition. It is showing its age withsome light rust around the edges, and small chips and scratches. The fact that it existsin the state it is in, and the fact that it is being offered for sale, make this a rare piece. Thesink was set up in an outbuilding of a farm, with cold water running to one faucet for outdoorhand washing. Top to bottom: the top, rear edge that meets the wall has small chips along theedge, and the backsplash looks good. The drain plug and chain look to be in good condition. Therim around the bowl has small scratches, but nothing that stands out, and the interior of the bowl haswear, some small dings and a little rust around the drain. What is worth pointing out is an indented circularspot on one side that measures about 3" in diameter. It is hard to explain, so there is a picture showing thisarea. The underside had some relatively light surface rust that was removed. It was then painted to clean upthe appearance. The soap dish is in good condition overall. It does not attach to the sink, but was with it originally,so it is being included here.
