Description: The Beswick Pottery was one of the manufacturers on Stoke-on-Trent and eventually sold to Royal Doulton. Toby Jugs and Toby Mugs were created in hundreds of different characters and patterns/series. So many of them were not marked and not uncommon to acquire one that is not stamped. One of the ways to identify its maker, is to know their style of face features,their use of color, what they are wearing, etc. This Toby Mug is from Beswick, "The Old Woman", (a teapot is often found, having the same face).The Mug sits approx. 3 1/2" high and spans approx. 4 1/2" from handle edge to polka-dotted bandana's ear edge. It is in good collectible condition, lots of crazing, has a discoloration spot inside back, and a fleabite over her left eyebrow, (difficult to see).
