If you prefer other shipping options, please reach out to discuss your needs. Thank you! DESCRIPTION- An oval-shaped antique Georgian jewelry/ring box, estimated circa 1714 to 1837. This rare jewelry box is covered in red-coloured leather and lined with cream-coloured silk. It would complement a treasured piece of jewelry beautifully. MARKS- n/a (The interior is blank; no jewelry retailer information is available) MEASUREMENTS- Length: Approx. 48.5 mm- Width: Approx. 32.8 mm (at its widest point)- Height: Approx. 15.1 mm- The recess in the base measures approx. 41.7 mm in length x 25.7 mm in width (at its widest point) CONDITION - Overall, the jewelry box is in beautiful antique condition and still enjoyable for many more years to come. It bears signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Surfaces have marks and scratches that one would expect in a piece of this age. These ‘imperfections’ add character to the piece rather than take away from it- There is wear/loss to the leather, including scuffs and marks- The interior is clean and does not have any unpleasant scent- There is wear/loss to the silk, including marks and discolouration. The stuffing underneath the silk lining has become compressed over the years - The hinge, hook and eye closures are all intact. The jewelry box opens and closes well. There is a small gap between the lid and the base when the jewelry box is closed- All of the above are shown in the photos provided- There is no visible evidence of a previous repair or restoration SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS- Antique handcrafted jewelry boxes are highly desirable and sought after.
