Description: WW II vintage Oxygen Breathing Apparatus set up. it was used by the U.S. Navy as a Breathing Rescue setup, and was Type A-1, which is supposed to be a self contained closed circuit device, which allowed the wearer to be independent of the surrounding atmosphere for the effective limit of the oxygen supply which was about 45 minutes. I could not verify that but looking at this, it sounds right. It is obviously used, and comes with bags and backstraps, which all look period correct.
