Antique French Neo-Classical Style Marble Mantle Table Clock by A-1 Circa: 1890s

Description: Own a BEAUTIFULLY executed French Neo-Classical/Victorian clockwork signed A-1, 7-day wind two train suspension spring solid brass plate restored movement inserted into a polished black slate with beige marble case; ornately gilded brass feet; gilded brass wreath handles to each clock case side; missing original topper; all gilded decorations assuming Neo-Classical/Victorian influences. High quality beautiful polished black slate 3 ¾” diameter faceplate contains Roman numerals engraved into the black slate & gilded in gold; accented with polished brass hour/minute clock hands; a small FAST/SLOW adjustment gear centered above numerals; a replaced adjustable weight pendulum; clock face is protected with a substantially decorated hinged gilded brass door frame fitted with a clear heavily beveled glass (minor scratches in the glass) which snaps shut against the gilded bronze clock surround; the backside contains a second hinged brass door with pierced design set into a brass door frame as a friction fit; the large nickel bell resonates beautifully within the clock case; clock case sits upon 2 elaborate front gilded brass feet while the rear feet are of a simple flat design; clock case is handsomely designed with beige marble which accents the stepped base & top of the clock case; both movement & bell assemblies are mounted securely to case. Chiming correctly & running on time. APPROXIMATE CLOCK DIMENSIONS: height 11 ¾” x width 9 ½” x depth 6” I am NOT a retailer. I am an antique clock collector wishing to reduce my clock collection. This clock comes from my collection & has been running successfully for several years with no difficulties. It has been tested prior to this offering. Clock set-up to establish the correct “beat” is paramount to the clock’s operation, accomplished through placement & leveling (sometimes with rotating the movement while in the clock case). Additionally, temperature & humidity may affect it over time as well. Do not over wind the clock. Lastly, I cannot not guarantee the clock’s operation once shipped. I do take pride as a seller and buyer of these clocks. All shipments will be wrapped in bubble wrap (key & pendulum wrapped separately) set tightly into box containing Styrofoam peanuts, tapped shut & then placed into second box (as may be necessary) filled with padding for added protection, taped shut on all sides.
