Description: This fine antique fighting knife is a great addition to an advanced collection. The blade is 12 1/2" long, 1/4" thick at base, with 6 3/4" long grip. The smooth, polished stag grip is solid and the knife is very tight and intact. The mirror finish of the blade does have some wear, but the serrated top edge and the acid etching is all there. The pommel is a full circumference of mother-of-pearl expertly inlaid with a pearl knob for a skull-crusher. Address is F.W. James, Sheffield. Beautifully inlaid ferrule as well. This is a massive fighting knife in fine overall condition. Acid etched blade: ".S. Volunteers - Land of the Free, Home of the Brave." An Eagle holding arrows is centered and final etching: "Americans live for nothing but what is Right and Submit to nothing that is Wrong".
