Description: Gorgeous and very special antique Bohemian shot glass in the Zwischengoldglas technique.Dating from around 1860-1890 the glass is generally in good condition though it has a small chip on the rim with which is difficult to see with the faceted nature of the rim. See Final photo I have an arrow pointing to the chip. Zwischengoldglas (gold between glass) objects represent a special category of glass with the decoration placed between two or more layers of glass. The main production centre was located in BohemiaThis glass has a twelve sided facet and the hand painted gold disk is inset into the base at a precise depth from the bottom of the bowl to then reflect the image, in this case a rose, on to each side creating a central image surrounded on all sides by a smaller version of the image when looking down into the base of the glass.The glass is 2 5/16" high with the rim 1 15/16" across and the base 1 7/16" across
