Let's begin with the two beautiful old sterling silver thimbles made by Simons Brothers Company, Philadelphia, PA, that was founded in 1839 by George W. Simons. Decagon band thimble on the left has alternate panels: five panels with flower and circles, five plain panels one of which marked with a 9 (size) and another monogrammed with"C" and another with a "A". This thimble is from the 1880's stamped inside the apex with the script style letter "S inside the shield". Thimble is in great condition with some age and use wear, with no holes. The second silver nickel thimble by Simon Brothers, has a reef circling the base, with marked on the interior bottom "SBC", "8", with Keystone shield made about c.1912-1952. If those 2 don't get you all excited, well this one will, it's a very rare thimble with a thread cutter on it's side, still in amazing working condition. It has a "Pat. Pend." stampnext to its cutter. Can't find the size but I guess it to be about a 8 or 9. It's in absolute wonderful condition, a little treasure. The last 1 is FREE! And what a gift it is! It's an Advertising piece for Hirsch Bros., Dry Goods Co. out of Joseph, Mo. I know a post card with this company on it is $15.00, so I can only imagine what this is worth.
