Description: Antique 1920s Malles Goyard Steamer Trunk Medium Size Hat Box Paris This rare antique 1920s Malles Goyard medium-sized steamer trunk is sure to elevate any room with a touch of class. It opens from the slide lock in the front, and has a key hole, but does not come with a key. The front brass lock hardware is signed "Goyard Ainé." The trunk is leather covered with the classic Goyard logo chevron print. The print has "SE Goyarde 233 R. St Honore Paris" worked into the pattern in various spots on the outside of the trunk. The trunk is accentuated with brown leather strips that are embossed with stripes and have brass tacks and nail detailing. The handle is leather with brass connecting hardware. The inside of the case is lined with yellow paper. There is an old United States Customs sticker stamp on the side of the trunk as shown in the photos. There are brass feet on the bottom and one of the sides of the trunk. There are two brass logo plates on the trunk and one is in better shape than the other. The logo plates say "Malles Goyard 233 Rue St Honore. Paris Monte-Carlo Biarritaz Bordeaux." The trunk is in good condition overall. This item is perfect for collectors and those looking to bring their home décor up a notch. Condition: Therre are scuffs (white and black) on the lighter leather corners and edges (see photos). There is light fraying by the two bottom hinges on the outside of the trunk. There are various dings, scuffs, scrapes, and dings on the outside sides of the trunk. There is sticker residue by the handle from a sticker that was removed. There is one old United States Customs sticker stamp intact on the side of teh trunk. This customs stamp is in excellent condition. The side logo plates are easy to read and in good to fair condition. The leather handle is worn and stained in places, but still firmly attached and functions. The slide lock by the handle opens and closes with ease and securely. The two brass side logo plates are scuffs, scratches, and wear. One of these is in better condition than the other. There are two spots on the inside lining where one of the fastners has pushed through the liner (see photos). There are black spots on the inside back of the yellow paper liner. The inside of the case smells mostly clean and is being kept fresh by a freshness packet. The back right-hand corner is missing one nail and undone on the inside of the trunk (see photos). There is minor debris inside the trunk. Please carefully review the photos, as they are an extension of this description. Approximate dimensions: 20" x 12.5" x 18.5" Weight of set: 11 lbs.
