Antique 1890s Irish Lace Crochet Jacket Puffed Shoulders

Description: For your consideration a beautiful Victorian-era Irish lace crochet jacket/top featuring leg of mutton sleeves, which were very popular in the 1890s. The sleeves are full from the puffed sleeve caps to the elbow, and then tight and fitted from the elbow down. The ~3” standing collar has a scalloped edge that runs down the lapels, going all the way to the bottom on the left side, which is apparently designed to overlap the right (although there are no fasteners at present.) There is a drawstring running along the back of the neck, allowing one to adjust the neck and shoulder width. CONDITION ISSUES Two minor things to note, on this otherwise magnificently well preserved piece: -a small repair on the front, near the left shoulder (photo № 14) -a rust-colored stain on the inside of the left shoulder—not visible from the outside (photo № 15) MEASUREMENTS (see photos also) shoulders: (adjustable with drawstring) 13” presently bust: 30” closed as shown in photo, but note how it fits on Marisol’s 34 ½” bust, open waist: 26” with left side overlapping right (~4” overlap) as shown in photo № 23 length (shoulder to hem): ~14” length (top of collar to hem in back): 17” sleeve opening: ~12” sleeve length: 23 ½” wrist opening: 8” collar height: ~3” MARISOL (our model)’s MEASUREMENTS: 34.5”(B) 26”(W) 37”(H) (Size 6) additional model measurements below General Notes) GENERAL NOTES — Please let me know if you have any questions or require any further information or photos.
