In 1961, the company relocated to Lenin Boulevard (now Erzsébet krt.) 31-33, and moved to a new theater under the design of Oszkár Kaufmann , which replaced the Royal Orpheum, which was demolished in 1953. The opening performance on March 24, 1961 was Bertolt Brecht 's play The Caucasian Circle , directed by Ottó Ádám , starring Irén Psota, Sándor Pécsi, Miklós Gábor and Hédi Váradi.
