Description: This is a phenomenal antique print is from a portfolio of quality collotype prints published in 1914 or near to that time. It depicts three pictures of Native American Eskimo. The bottom right shows a man in a kayak. The top two pictures show several people in an omiak boat. I helpful ebayer shared this historical info: "The omiak could hold up to 30 or even 50 people depending on size. Kayak carries only one person. Omiaks were often used back then to travel to and from Russia to visit relatives. This was common until the Cold War Era in the 1950s when the USSR stopped allowing it. One man Kayaks were mainly for hunting." The collotype is an antique mechanical printing method that produced incredible detail and beautiful tones. It was originally mounted by the corners to gray paper in the portfolio. It is still attached, but could probably be steamed off. The print is single-sided (blank back) with wonderful tones and hues. The gray paper is approx 12 x 10 inches. The print itself is page is approx. 8.8 x 6.7 inches, with just a thin white margin. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
