Description: Vintage and historical 78 RPM vinyl (or maybe acetate?). The 49th State Hawaii Record Company was founded in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1948, anticipating Hawai'i's eventual statehood, although in 1959 Hawai'i actually became the 50th state. Side A: "Lei Aloha" - Genoa Keawe's Hula Maids with Johnny Almeida Side B: "Hauoli Maka Hiki Hou! Happy New Year!" - Genoa Keawe's Polynesians with Johnny Almeida's Hawaiians Catalog #191 Record has been play-tested and is free of skips and scratches, but has pops and crackles typical of this vintage. (Note: There appear to be superficial scrapes on the record, but they are not noticeable when playing.) The inner sleeve is original to 49th State Record Co., but may not be original to this disc.
