Description: I recently purchased about 800 shoe lasts that came from a building about to be torn down. These are from Portsmouth, Ohio, which in the early 1900's was known as the shoe manufacturing capital of the world, producing about 7 million pairs of shoes a year. As the factories starting closing down, the remaining shops would buy out the shoe lasts from the other companies until they all ended up at the last working factory. TheDr are from the 1930’s to 1950’s. These 4 shoe last were ladies high heels. They have been sanded and stained and mounted to an old piece of barn wood. This can be mounted to the wall and used as a hat or coat rack. Little hooks could be added for keys. Very unique one of a kind piece.
