Also required is the trimming of the hidden plastic inner flange of the console by about a quarter inch to make room for the two cup sleeves. Recommended cutting tool is a Dremel rotary tool with a cut-off wheel at low speed. Instructions for cutting are included.For center consoles with automatic transmissions ONLY. THIS DOES NOT FIT MANUAL TRANSMISSION CONSOLES. NOTE: The left side cup holder is slightly shorter than the right to provide clearance for the automatic transmission linkage on the left. NOTE: FOR 82-84 Camaros these cup holders provide space for the original automatic transmission rigid curved shifter dust cover strip (instead of the later model 'rolltop' dust strip). There is enough gap for the cover strip to pass between the cup sleeves when the shifter is in 'Park'. However, part of the forward strip "guide" may also need trimming.
