Description: Susan B Anthony Coin InformationMinted 1979 to 1999Issued in 1979, this One Dollar coin was issued in honor of Susan B. Anthony, the American woman who fought tirelessly for women's rights. These dollar coins were struck from 1979 to 1981, and again in 1999. There is a scarce Type 2 variety for both 1979 and 1981. The U.S. Treasury hoped this coin would be used instead of the $1.00 U.S. note, but this not did occur, and likely will not until the $1.00 note is removed from circulation. This is a US Mint sealed Bank Bag of 1979 (S) Susan B Anthony $1 Coins. The 1979-S Susan B. Anthony Dollar is very common according to PCGS in circulated grades and up to MS Sixty-five condition. Only MS Sixty-six examples and higher are scarce. According to PCGS in MS sixty-six there are probably a couple thousands examples that survive. In MS Sixty-seven much fewer examples exist, probably more like 400 examples survive in this condition. In MS Sixty-eight they are truly scarce with less than a handful of examples known to exist and none surviving in any higher condition.PCGS #: 9573Designer: Frank GasparroEdge: ReededDiameter: 26.50 millimetersWeight: 8.10 gramsMintage: 109,576,000Mint: San FranciscoMetal: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel over a pure Copper center
