Description: 1972 Guild Bluesbird - This one is special! You'd be hard-pressed to find another Bluesbird or M75 with the Custom appointments this one has. This guitar has so much character, you will be delighted with the range of sounds you can get with it. The chambered body gives it an amazing tone, regardless of which pickups you select or how you work the tone controls, which allow for a huge tone palette. It's nearly impossible to make this guitar sound bad! Top of the line features, such as Mother of Pearl block inlays on fretboard; MoP Guild "crown" inlay on headstock; chrome Harp-shaped trapeze tailpiece with tune-o-matic type bridge; bound body and neck. The pick guard is fairly rare, as well. From what I was told by a collector, this guitar is a re-issue of a 1968 model recreated in 1972. I purchased this guitar in 1980 from the original owner. The Bluesbird model has a chambered body, which makes it lighter than a solid body and also enhances the tone both acoustically and when plugged-in. Pickups are original as are the Tuning keys, which are similar to Grovers but with Guild branding. They are sealed tuners. The frets on this guitar are flat-top "Rock and Roll" frets. So it is super-fast and easy on the fingers. Also, since they're not crowned, there is very little fret wear. It plays like a dream! Strap locks included, which are not original (they didn't make them in 1972).
