1950s Antebellum Styled Lace & Satin Wedding Dress

Description: Beautiful 1950s wedding dress with full petticoat. Original box included. Oreck's of Duluth. (Oreck's Dress Department, Duluth, Minnesota - 1909 to 1980) First off, I know very little about this style of clothing, it reminds me of an antebellum styled garment. Now, there’s something special about a vintage wedding dress. These are a romantic memory of what was and what can be when the dress is passed down through the generations. It is a way to feel connected to the past. This would never be the case for this dress. It was brought into our business with a very sad story attached to it. The sister of the bride has had this in storage since 1957, when her sister and husband were killed in a car crash on way to their reception. A tragic ending to what was to be a beautiful beginning. The seller said she'd kept it long enough, it was time to say goodbye. As you can see this dress shows a lovely ivory or eggshell satin lining and inner slip. White lace bells surround the piece. Satin covered buttons at top in the back. Sheer long lace sleeves have V cuffs with zippers at the backs. Zippers work on back and lower sleeves. The petticoat is made of what I believe is referred to as crinoline, very stiff and it's a bit wrinkled due to being in the box for years. It appears attached but will find out more when I get the actual measurements. The dress on a whole is in very good condition other than I find two holes by the bottom of the dress on the backside. It's fragile and again, dates to 1957. We carefully pack and ship Fed Ex or USPS depending on size and destination. Please see photos as they are important to the description.
