Description: 1931 Garfield High School Annual YEAR BOOK VS. Roosevelt Los Angeles. Offering a complete 1931, 229 page GARFIELD YEAR BOOK. Ninety years old and is one of the earliest Garfield High School year books I've seen in this condition. Pages are clean, crisp and no missing pages. Book was well cared for, it must have been stored flat in a fragrance and smoke free environment. This year book has an interesting feature of utilizing hand pulled graphic prints to section off significant events during the the school year. The only condition detail is some spine separation in the lower portion of the front cover and first page. The rest of the book is tightly bound. Garfield was ahead of its time with diversity - the year book belonged to a Josephine Torres and other people of color have their names throughout. This is a historical find especially for the collector or fans of the famed High School football classic - Roosevelt High vs. Garfield High, that continues to this very day!
