Description: 1930's Wood 4-Drawer Library Index Card Catalog File Cabinet w/Door For sale is this nearly antique wood card catalog file cabinet with a very unique pull-down door. Unfortunately, the key to lock the sliding door was lost and is not included. There are 4 total drawers that pull out. The entire cabinet comes in at approx. 31 lbs empty. It's very heavy duty and well-built with various signs of vintage/antique aging like some splitting wood on the sides as seen in the photos. Also, various dings, scratches, surface wear, minor dents and dust from over the years. This was well kept in a clean home by the prior owner. There are only a few clues that I could find on the cabinet that relates to year. No manufacturers mark was found. On the bottom of the cabinet the numbers 37 are indented into the wood. I'm assuming this refers to 1937. Inside the bottom right drawer, someone scratched into the wood 5-18-38 and within this same drawer near the rear of the drawer, they scratched in 1000. On the side of the bottom left drawer, I found the number 2434 written in pencil. Approx.
