The dark brown bakelite case has no chips or cracks, and the lid opens easily. The original opening hasp is complete and opens the lid to reveal 2 magnetic strips that the blade rests on (double edge blade included). The lid has its original prongs to hold the blade in place. Behind the prongs reads: “Made in U.S.A.” with the number “5” below. Below the prongs reads: “Pats Pend In US & Other Countries”. This is a really nice Monroe Magnetic Razor Blade Sharpener. I can’t imagine how it works, and searching online, other people are stymied as well.
