Description: 18ct 750 Yellow Gold Art Deco Ring W/ Natural Diamond & Onyx - 1930s - Size K Solid 18ct yellow gold with platinum setting. Hallmarked “18C, JSF” The ring is in good condition. It is showing finer scratches and some minor wear. The ring style is a dress ring. The ring is handmade. It is estimated to date to the late 1930s, art deco period. The main stone is natural onyx, the secondary stone is a natural white diamond. The onyx has been tested and was confirmed to be natural black onyx with no colour enhancements. The diamond was also tested and it was confirmed to be natural. There are no chips or scratches on the stones. The diamond has an estimated carat weight of 0.10ct. It has an old European cut, likely was taken out of a Victorian period ring and set into this ring. The onyx is slightly loose in its setting, common for onyx as it’s a glass and can easily chip or crack of the setting is tight. The gold purity of this ring has been tested and it was confirmed to be solid 18ct yellow gold (75.0% purity) The platinum was also tested and it was confirmed to be 800 platinum (80%) The ring has been resized. The solder for the resizing is not visible on the ring band, it is a strong joint and will likely last the life of the ring given normal wear. It was resized to a larger size. Never had any repairs made to it. The settings are not worn. The ring is very comfortable to wear. Inside diameter is 15.9mm. An Australian size K. Ring band width is 2.0mm. Ring band thickness is 0.8mm. The face of this ring is 14.0mm in width and the onyx sits at a maximum height of 5.5mm. In perfectly wearable condition. Will be posted with a ring box.
