Description: Lady Jackson was the widow of a British diplomat who, to supplement her pension, wrote historical pieces such as this, basing the works on a variety of memoirs. With a signed bindng by Mudie, This set is in very good condition with lovely marbled boards and matching endpapers along with marbled edges. There is some scuffing to the front that shows as a faded mark, and scuffing to the leather on the spines and corners. Pretty spine with gilt decorations around first a brown label, then a green, both with gilt lettering. There are cracks or splits on the inside at the gutters but not noticeable and does not impede the integrity of either volume.
