It was struck in 1788 and pictures King Christian VII of Denmark, yet the coin and the Duchy is listed as a "German State" in the catalog. In 1474 Christian I had become “Duke” of both “Schleswig and Holstein” and from then until the downfall of Napoleon in 1815 they were ruled by the Danish Royal House. Denmark fought two wars and lost the last one to Prussia over Schleswig-Holstein but the first war did not begin until 1846. Weight: 6.71 Grams, 31 Millimeters, .875 Silver. Mintage: 414,000.
