Description: 1000 Tausend Kronen This is a 1902 1000 kronen banknote from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the end of WW1, the Austro-Hungarian Empire fractured into several countries. The korona banknotes were used for some time in the successor states, with each new nation placing an overstamp on the korona banknotes in use. These in particular went on to be used in the new Republic of Austria. An enormous banknote at 7.5" x 5.125" (19 x 13 cm). Note 1: The banknote for sale here has the been printed the same on both the obverse and reverse. The banknote was supposed to have a design on the reverse with two women and the German word "Tausend" (thousand).
